A LEVEL EXAMINATIONS

Every A level course is divided into two parts: A first year part called ‘AS’ and a second-year part called ‘A level’. Students generally take their AS examinations at the end of their first year of A level study and their A level examinations at the end of their second year. If needed, AS examinations can be retaken during the student’s second year of A level study.

We welcome both internal and external (private) candidates for a range of tests at our centres in Oxford and Estoril or for online invigilation.

Trial examinations

Throughout the academic year, Greene’s students undertake four trial examinations, which are treated with the same level of care and invigilation as formal examinations. The aim of trial examinations is two-fold: firstly, to provide students with experience to ready them for their end-of-course examinations, and secondly, to track the progress of students’ study. Trial examinations are mandatory for full-time Greene’s students, and are also available for external candidates.

Trial examinations take place four times per year in:

  • October
  • November
  • February
  • March
