A dedicated Greene’s student found success at the prestigious Maths competition in Oxford.
Our A level student Owen, a dedicated and talented young mathematician, recently represented Greene’s College in the prestigious Maths Challenge at Oxford. Owen’s fascination with mathematics began as early as age two, and his passion has only deepened over the years. By Year 4, he was already competing in the UKMT challenges, marking the start of his impressive record in mathematical competitions. Beyond his own studies, Owen is a supportive and kind peer, often helping other students in their math journey and embodying the spirit of our community.
Owen’s math accomplishments are remarkable: he earned a medal in BMO1 and a distinction in BMO2, along with three consecutive years of medal-winning performances in the Intermediate Olympiad. His score in this year´s Senior Maths Challenge (SMC) was a perfect score, a personal goal he was thrilled to achieve. These successes reflect his dedication, skill, and love for complex problem-solving, and he’s eager to compete again in the coming rounds.
Owen dreams of one day returning to Greene’s College Oxford as a math tutor, where he hopes to pass on his love for mathematics and inspire future generations of students. With his dedication, talent, and generosity, there’s no doubt he’ll continue to achieve great things in mathematics and beyond.
These achievements reflect not only the exceptional mathematical talents of our students but also their hard work, determination, and passion for problem-solving. At Greene’s, we are immensely proud of all the students who participated in the Senior Mathematical Challenge, and we eagerly await the results of the follow-up rounds.
